SlumpScan (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the SlumpScan mobile application (the “App”), available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and any other details you voluntarily provide.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including features accessed, session duration, and in-app actions.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and crash diagnostics.
  • Sensor & Measurement Data: Readings captured through the SlumpMeter sensor — such as slump, temperature, and material properties — along with associated project or job site details you enter manually.
  • Camera Data: If you use any photo capture features, images are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share them.

The App itself does not collect or process any payment information.

Purchase & business information. When you buy a beta sensor, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your name, email, and shipping address so we can fulfill and ship your order, and we ask two optional questions (years in business and your main reason for buying) to improve the product. We store the order record and shipping address; full card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App's core functionality.
  • Display your measurement history and project data within the App.
  • Diagnose bugs, fix crashes, and improve App performance.
  • Analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to guide product improvements.
  • Respond to your support requests or inquiries.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for targeted advertising.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We may share information with a limited set of trusted service providers who assist in operating the App:

  • App Stores (Apple & Google): The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Apple and Google may collect certain usage and diagnostic data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
  • Analytics Providers: We may use third-party analytics tools (such as platform-provided analytics from Apple and Google) to understand App usage at an aggregate level.
  • Cloud Infrastructure (Supabase): Your account and measurement data are stored and synced using Supabase, our cloud backend provider, which applies appropriate data protection safeguards. Data is encrypted in transit.

We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of SlumpScan and its users.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. Measurement and project data stored locally on your device remains under your control — you can delete it at any time within the App.

If you delete your account or request deletion of your data, we will remove your personal information from our systems within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

6. Children's Privacy

SlumpScan is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at joe@slumpscan.com and we will promptly delete such information.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data, subject to certain legal exceptions — see our account deletion page.
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Opt-Out: Opt out of any non-essential data collection at any time by adjusting App settings or contacting us.

8. Security

We take the security of your information seriously. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password if an account is created, and to keep your device software up to date.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App's release notes on the App Store and Google Play. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
